The core engine of the Micro Strategy platform comprises of Reporting Services, Analytical Services and OLAP Services.
Metadata
This is a data repository which stores the information about the various objects created under Micro Strategy
Data Warehouse
The database that holds the business data collected and processed by the external application. Micro Strategy pulls and processes the data to create various reports.
Client
This is a computer that interacts with the Intelligence Server which is used for development and performing other maintenance tasks.
Web Server
Web Server also interacts with the Intelligence Server to display the reports requested in the browser.
